Mindfulness

Mindfulness has truly been a life changing practice for me but in all honesty, it was one that I didn’t understand initially. Follow my breath? Noice my thoughts? It felt abstract and at times triggered more anxiety. Learning the right strategies for me and my nervous system were a game changer. As a teacher, I weave together my unique background and training in special education, yoga, and trauma-informed mindfulness to offer you tools and practices that are accessible, practical, inclusive, and rooted in self compassion.

My current offerings include private sessions for children, adults, and families.

“Being in Karla’s sessions was my first experience with Mindfulness teaching. Her practice is beautiful--you immediately feel her warmth and orb of safety, allowing your mind to become in-tune with where you are, what you are feeling, the ground below you, and the light inside of you. Her teaching is a gift. I’m deeply thankful to be able to practice with her weekly. It has enhanced the peace in my life and how I navigate in the world.”

"I always considered mindfulness as something that was not meant for me, but Karla quickly changed that. She is patient, thoughtful, and skilled at meeting people where they are in their practice. I left my sessions with Karla with tools that I could actually apply, and more connected to the idea that mindlessness was, in fact, exactly for me."
